Windwalker -- Dan's cabin and property above 8,000 feet along the base of the Continental Divide just south of Rocky Mountain National Park -- is a natural place to draw as well as write, and Dan's kept a sketchbook up there since he bought the place. This fast sketch -- colored pencil and pens -- was made one summer day while hiking down past the pond just above where the dreaded beaver are felling the aspen forest in the valley. Those aren't real mountains across the road -- just hills obscuring the view of the seriously high peaks just beyond.
